The Smallest Memories are Often the Best

Recently, my daughter showed me this picture. It was the first picture she had drawn of me and her, and it was of a walk we had taken together on the beach a while ago. It got me thinking that it’s often the small, seemingly insignificant things of life that give us our happiest moments.

Of course, the major stuff like graduating college, getting married or getting that first job are important in anyone’s life and they rightfully so, but it’s often the smaller events that hold the most precious of memories. My daughter will no doubt hold this memory dear for the rest of her life.

I will too I think. I took a picture of it and now have it on my phone.

It made me think about how memories are unique to us and how they can even shape our lives, even these smallest ones.

So when a patient of ours recently came in with an MCL sprain, it made me think of this memory.

You see, this patient had planned a special ski trip for himself and his daughter which no doubt would have been a special time and fond memories would have been made. With his MCL sprained, the trip was in jeopardy.

Fortunately, myself and my team have many techniques and collaborative knowledge to help expedite treatment on his injury. So we have put him through a treatment schedule to help him recover quicker and we also prescribed a knee support brace to help with his condition as he skied.

Not only that, we ordered several different types, styles and sizes to find the proper fit for him and we asked him to come in with his ski boot so that we could tailor this fit. To this end, our patient stands a great chance of being able to continue with his plans and to forge those special memories.

With the end of the year fast approaching, it’s also a time when many of us take stock and look back on the year. What memories have been made? What good times have we had? What will the next year bring?

Memories are so important to the human condition and it is one of our aims to not only help patients out of pain and injury but to get them back to doing what they want and to be able to forge those special personal memories themselves.

If you’re in pain right now, if you don’t have to be. Give us a call or schedule an appointment online. We also accept insurance. You can Schedule an appointment here.
