NJ Chiropractic Suggests Spinal Manipulation to Relieve Low Back Pain

Low back pain is a major cause of disability in the world and the second most common reason to visit the doctor. Low back pain costs our society more than 100 billion dollars every year when thinking about lost wages, reduced productivity, and legal / insurance costs.

Our NJ chiropractic care clinic wants you to know that spinal manipulation has been found to be the number one course of care by researchers for low back pain. For people who don’t improve with self care, spinal manipulation should be used for them to begin with, says the American College of Physicians and the American Pain society.

In addition, the Agency for Health Care Research and Quality found that spinal manipulation is equally as effective as medication to relieve low back pain and neck pain, without any of the medications side effects.

Research done in 2013 compared spinal manipulation and anti inflammatory drugs (not steroids). They found that spinal manipulation was actually more effective than the drug diclofenac, a common drug prescribed to patients with low back pain. Patients who were treated with spinal manipulation also had no side effects. A separate study done in 2015 concluded that prescription drugs can even slow down the healing process of low back pain, and increase your chances of osteoarthritis or joint deterioration.

Here at our NJ chiropractic care, we treat your low back pain and lots of other pain using spinal manipulation. We use this treatment more than any other doctor or healthcare professional such as physical therapy, osteopathy, medical doctors, and more. Our NJ chiropractic care clinic will also combine spinal manipulation with other various treatments like exercise training, to help reduce and relieve your pain.
