Biography
Professional Background of Eileen Egan Russo DAc., LAc., MS, LMT
Eileen M. Egan-Russo is a licensed Acupuncturist holding the title, Doctor of Acupuncture in New Jersey and New York and is currently a Diplomat of the NCCAOM and NJAAOM. She is also a licensed Medical Massage Therapist in New York State and holds a certification in massage therapy nationally.
After obtaining a BA in Art after high school, she began to pursue her additional passion in healthcare by undertaking many of the intense obstacles that the wellness industry presented beginning with a Massage Therapy Degree from the Swedish Institute of Health Sciences in New York. This was followed by a BS in Psychology from the College of Staten Island graduating magna cum laude. She then underwent the comprehensive education of Chinese Medicine and became a proud graduate of the Pacific College of Health Sciences for Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine in New York and San Diego ..
Additionally, over the last 25 years, Eileen has obtained numerous certifications including, but not limited to: enhanced acupuncture and massage techniques, exercise and physical rehabilitation protocols, trauma care, pregnancy and cancer protocols, through the NCCAOM
(National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine) AMT A (American Massage Assoc.), NASM (National Assoc. of Sports Medicine), ACE (American Council of Exercise) and others. She is CPR, AED and first aid certified and has over 3 80 hours of volunteer work in community sporting events, marathons, triathlons, special population events, hospice care and was a part of the emergency response team during 9/11.
She has worked alongside many biomedical and Eastern medical practitioners during her career, affording her a vast knowledge of medical procedures and terminology allowing her to communicate with most doctors and health care professionals as an advocate for her patients. Her unique knowledge of both Eastern and Western medicine allows for a comprehensive opportunity to benefit the population she cares for.
With the support of her husband, three children, family, friends and the hundreds of patients and clients who she has had the privilege of interacting with, she strives to be a part of a future where integrative medicine will be a staple in everyone’s life.
